How to Avoid Malware Infection Windows 10 & 8.1 Computer/Laptop?


In order to avoid malware infection on Windows 10 and 8.1 system you need to follow the below given tutorial and make your Windows 10 system. If your computer system is showing signs that it might be affected by a virus or malware then you need to remove the infection as soon as possible. 
Signs that Show your Computer is Infected:


  • If your computer or laptop takes long time to boot.
  • Unable to load the applications or apps stop responding.
  • If you are getting system error messages frequently.
  • Unknown icons are added to the desktop.
  • System becomes slow while browsing the Internet.
  • Web browser windows close without warning or stop responding.
  • Home page of web browser changes and cannot be reset.
  • Pop-up appear whenever user start browser. 
  • Unfamiliar extensions and toolbars are added to the default browser.
  • The default search engine of your browser replaced with an unknown one.

Tips to Prevent Windows 10 from Malware Attack


Tip 1: Enable Windows firewall


By enabling firewall you can provides basic protection to your system against security threats. While browsing to the Internet it is suggested to turn on the Windows firewall. You can take help of Windows Defender or other third party firewall software.


NOTE: It is recommended to avoid enabling more than one firewall. Because if you enable more than one firewall software then confliction issue may generate. 


Step 1: Go to the search box of the taskbar and search for Control Panel. Open the control panel from searches.  

Step 2: Confirm View by is set to Category.

Step 3: Click on the System and Security. As shown in figure.

Step 4: Choose Security and Maintenance from the list. As shown in below figure.


Step 5: Read the message under Review recent messages and resolve problems.

  • If the message is No issues have been detected by Security and Maintenance, then the security settings are up to date.
  • If a security alert displays, click Turn on now to enable the firewall.

Tip 2: Download Necessary Windows Security updates


Security updates and patches are regularly provided by the Microsoft to make Windows more secure. All of these update are very important and necessary to avoid any type of infection. If your system is connected with a broadband connection that is always on, then you need to set the Windows Update tool to automatically check for updates daily. Windows will automatically send the security updates as they are required.

In case your system doesn’t have a broadband connection then you can manually check for and install security updates.

Step 1: Go to the search box on the taskbar, and search for Check for updates.

Step 2: Click Check for Updates. 


Step 3: After the completion of search, if any update is found then install them.

If you are a Windows 10 user then updates automatically install.
If you are a Windows 8 user then click on the Install updates.
