How to Avoid a Virus While Browsing the Internet?



Almost 99.9% of users encounter virus or malware attacks in their life while they are using computer or internet. It doesn’t matter whether you are an experience users or how much careful you are. Virus and other malware program have become very common over the internet and they look for every chances to attack your PC through many options they have. It doesn’t matter how good your anti-virus is, it is very difficult to remove virus from computer system. But if you keep few tips in mind, which is mentioned below will help you to reduce the chances of virus attack while browsing internet

  • Check the Website URL – To know website is safe or not, you can do little search online. Just enter URL in the Google Search Engine and then look for the result whether the URL has been reported as “attack site” or not by anyone. If it is reported as attack site then it is definite that that particular site has virus or malware. However, it is very difficult to check website, but is a very good habit to avoid virus infection. Such kind of service is available at McAfee’s website where you can check website whether it is infected with virus or not.
  • Download the Files that you want – When you download anything from the net make sure that you download the files that you want and not any unwanted software or virus. There are many website that display “Download” button, but actually those are advertisement and they confuse user. You should ignore clicking on those download button. You must download files or software from official website.
  • Avoid Pirated Stuff – You might be excited to watch latest movies, games or TV shows. But you must avoid downloading pirated movies, games, TV shows, software, etc because many hackers include hidden virus in those files. Furthermore, you are also putting yourself into illegal activities by downloading pirated things from internet. 
  • Avoid Spam and Unknown E-mails – This is one of the oldest methods to trap users. You may receive messages from unknown people that may look as official messages. In such case if you have any doubt then do not open that specific email or download attachments it may contain virus. Instead you can type the URL of specific website or just make a call to company to confirm.
